Pikachu's fight with Otosupus was pretty intense, the amount of punches Pikachu was receiving was a lot more than I expected

I find the point blanc aqua brick in octolock quite graphic. It really looked like some intestines or bones got damaged when it hit poor riolu. The trauma of Ash was understandable. They downgraded it for pikachu. Less graphic imo. But because it is pikachu I guess it still hit hard. Pikachu being too tightly wrapped to do thunderbolt was an asspull for plot's sake tho.

Plus when we also take into account (even from Ash POV) that Riolu is not a very defense high Pokemon and is still a kid/baby in age and experience.

Also seeing Pikachu defeated like that was so heart-wrenching, not only did things seem so hopeless, but because I'm always comparing how similar my cat is to him all I could see was my cat getting pulverized. 😭
